Saudi, Sunshine, Swimming, and Life Lately

Savannah and I have been back in Saudi for almost two weeks, and it has been crazy busy!  I feel like I am finally just now getting caught back up with life after being gone for a month.  We had such a wonderful visit with everyone in the States, but it has been wonderful to be reunited with Brent.  I'm so glad our little family is back together again!

Our trip home was thankfully uneventful- no sickness this time.  Savannah was awesome!  Apart from crying for about fifteen minutes, because I accidentally woke her up while we were boarding our first flight, she didn't fuss at all the entire trip.  I'm so thankful for such a good little traveler!

Speaking of little Miss, here's the news on her.....
Savannah's eye is continuing to heal beautifully.  All of her external stitches have fallen out, and her scar is nice and pink.  Praise God for his healing touch!

Savannah has her own "crawling" style and she's getting around pretty well.  She looks like a swimmer doing the butterfly stroke with her arms and kicking with one leg in the back.  It's pretty humorous!  Put a piece of food or an electronic device in front of her and she is off!  She's also trying to pull up on things, can stand while holding onto something, and will walk with support.  It's so much fun to watch her because she wants to get into everything, but she also wants you to be right there with her.

She also loves bouncing!  Some sweet friends of ours loaned us their jump-a-roo, and let me tell you, she has gone to town in that thing!  We have the best time watching her jump and giggle!

Dinner time has gotten more colorful since she has decided that it is funny to throw everything off of the highchair.  Even I have to admit it's funny, but only the first or second time.  :)  Overall, our little sweet pea is doing amazingly well and discovering new things every day!  We are so blessed to watch her grow!

This weekend we took Savannah to the pool for the second time in her life.  Our first visit was back in October and was just mediocre since she was still hurting from her reflux, but this visit was AWESOME!  She had so much fun- especially when she splashed!  We had such a great time enjoying the lovely weather with our girl!

Our cruise is coming up at the end of May, so I am furiously trying to research and read about the ports we will be visiting.  We can't wait for a vacation-vacation!

That's the exciting news for now, but for the most part we are just enjoying everyday life.  :)

A few days before we left for the States.
The day after coming back to Saudi.  This is a favorite pastime!
To the pool!

I love to splash!

Funny picture from tonight- someone was tired!

Easter in Shreveport

There in the ground,
His body lay,
Light of the World, by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth,
In glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost his grip on me!
For I am His, and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ!

Savannah and I had the pleasure of celebrating Christ's resurrection while we were still in Shreveport.  We missed Brent terribly, and hated that he couldn't be with us!  I cannot tell you what a privilege it was to be able to celebrate Easter at church with a body of believers.

We had a wonderful day together and took some lovely pictures of our little bunny!  There are a lot of pictures, but who can blame me for having a hard time choosing when she's so cute!  :)

Happy (belated) Easter everyone!

Happy Easter everyone!

PawPaw's House

While Savannah and I were in the States, we ended up making a quick trip to my grandfather's house, and boy was it fun!  We were only in West Columbia for a day and a half, but we had delicious food, great company, and a wonderful time visiting family.

PawPaw (my Dad's dad) is quite smitten with "his little girl"and it was amazing to watch how tender and gentle he is with her.  Savannah was cautious the first few hours, but after that she was all smiles and laughter!  During our visit PawPaw took us out in the "Mule" (all purpose utility vehicle) and we took a drive through my uncles land across the street.  We spotted a heard of cows and Savannah was fascinated!  Overall, we had a wonderful time and were so thankful we ended up being able to see him!  We love you PawPaw!
This was the toy horse my cousins and I used to play with!

Looking back at PawPaw!

Having fun on Bucky!
Going for a ride on the mule.

I want to drive PawPaw!
Happy girl!

Someone was pooped out by the end of the day!

A Visit with the Easter Bunny!

On Sunday, Savannah and I made a quick trip down to Baton Rouge to visit Brent's side of the family.  Today during our visit we decided to make a stop to see the Easter Bunny, and boy was it fun!

I was worried that Savannah would be afraid of a giant stuffed animal, but she had the exact opposite reaction- she LOVED him!  When we sat her down on his lap she turned to him and gave the biggest smile! All she wanted to do was touch his fur and grab his face. It was hilarious!  She was so entranced with the Easter Bunny that every time she turned to look at the camera she stopped smiling.  We tried and tried to get a happy face towards the camera, but all of her smiles were saved for those glances at the bunny!  What a hoot!  We have such a fun little girl!  Happy Easter!

I love you Easter Bunny!
