One very important milestone was reached while we were at home in the States- Savannah started walking! On August 16th, Savannah took her first independent steps at Brent's aunt's house in Birmingham! For about a month prior to this, she had been walking while holding onto one of our fingers, but she finally realized that she could let go. The cutest part of the whole thing is that she gets so excited and proud of herself when she walks from one person to another. She has a huge smile on her face! :)
Today marks one month of walking and Savannah is taking things nice and slow. :) She had a couple of bad falls when we got back to Saudi, so she is cautiously trying new distances. Savannah is most comfortable walking to me or Brent or to objects that she knows are really stable. Each day she realizes she can do a little more and is willing to try something new. She has also figured out how to go down the two steps that separate our entry level and the living level. This has been big news in our house, because those two treacherous steps have been our arch nemesis since she got mobile.
Among other Savannah changes are.....
- She has learned to give kisses!
- She can do a shape sorting puzzle.
- She has become an expert knee walker. :)
- She is eating like a champ and points to the foods that she wants.
- She is babbling up a storm and can get very passionate (I wish I knew what she was thinking/saying).
- She is starting to really love her stuffed animals! She gives them hugs and tries to share her sippy cup and food with them. It's so sweet
- She still loves to dance!
We are so proud of our sweetie pie and can't wait to watch her take off across the room! We love you Savannah!
