Our last stop on the cruise was Naples, Italy. Brent and I chose to do a cruise excursion in which we hiked Mt. Vesuvius and then took a guided tour of Pompeii. This was our favorite stop of the trip! Our tour guide was quite the comedian and we enjoyed her commentary. :)
We went to Mt. Vesuvius first and just as a quick history reminder- this is the volcano that buried Pompeii. The bus drove us two thirds of the way up the mountain, and then we hiked the rest of the way up to the top. Brent was quite the sport because he had Savannah on his back for the entire hike. People kept commenting on how cute she was and what a good dad he was that he would bring her all the way up. :) It was really cool to be able to look inside the volcano and the views of Naples, Salerno, and Capri were gorgeous!
After our Mt. Vesuvius hike, we headed to Pompeii and got to check out the ruins there. It was absolutely incredible how well everything was preserved. There was so much ash emitted from the volcanic eruption that the entire city was completely buried and thus preserved. So many of the beautiful frescoes and mosaic floors were still intact as they once were. We were even able to see two of the body casts.
After Pompeii, we met back up with our tour group and had a few minutes to shop and grab a snack. Then it was back to the bus and the ship.
I can't think of a better way to have ended our trip. The best was truly saved for last! We had such a fantastic cruise and are blessed to have been given the opportunity to see so much of God's beautiful creation!

| The Napoli region is known for their lemons. Look at the size of it! |
| Our tour guide with Savannah. She told Savy the sign was a giant lollipop for her. |
