Bangkok, Thailand

After leaving Koh Samui, we flew back to Bangkok and spent half a day there.  The atmosphere is totally different in Bangkok.  It has all the features of a HUGE bustling city!  We didn't have very much time by the time we got settled into our hotel, so we decided to go see a famous temple called Wat Pho. Our tour guide was a 73 year old man who was about 25 at heart.  Needless to say- he was hilarious and very energetic!  He was intent on taking lots of pictures of us as a family at different parts of the temple so we got lots of shots!  He wasn't afraid to get on the floor in crazy cramped corners to make sure he got the perfect shot. LOL!

Overall the temple was interesting...

All of these were covered in gold-leaf.

This is a MASSIVE "reclining" Buddah.  It took up the entire interior of one building.

After Wat Pho, we wanted to go to a local market that was close.  We weren't exactly sure where it was, so we decided to take a "taxi."  This kind of taxi was rather interesting.  It was basically motor bike with a cart built on to it.  After we finished the ride, I thought to myself, that was little crazy.  Here is a picture of what we rode in.....

Here's a picture I took of us riding in it.  Savannah was in the carrier, and we wrapped the straps around Brent's legs, then we both held on to it.....

I think she even thought we were crazy!
The market we went to exclusively sold religious amulets.  We didn't get anything, but it was very interesting to walk down the street and be immersed in the Thai culture.

As the amulet market ended, another food market was close by so we decided to walk by it too.  Neither of us were brave enough to try street food, because we were both afraid of getting sick.  It was still really interesting to look at though.

We eventually stumbled across a massive GORGEOUS park and decided to take a break there.  We plopped down in the grass and let Savannah walk around.  She loved it, and we loved taking in the beauty of our surroundings.  We snapped a ton of pretty pictures of our girl in the park.

The next day we flew back to Bahrain, and then drove back to Saudi.  I did not want to leave Thailand!  We LOVED our trip there, and Thailand has a new special place in both of our hearts!  The "Land of Smiles" was truly AMAZING!
